AP Local TV Faces Action for Airing Pirated 'Game Changer' Movie

A pirated high-definition version of the Tollywood film “Game Changer” was recently broadcast on a local cable channel, AP Local TV, in Andhra Pradesh, sparking widespread outrage. The unauthorized airing, which occurred two days ago, has drawn sharp criticism from both industry professionals and viewers. Tollywood producer SKN publicly condemned the illegal telecast, highlighting its damaging impact on the film industry. In response to complaints, authorities took swift action against the piracy incident.
H.V. Chalapathi Raju, Managing Director of M/S Copyright Safety Systems, led a team to investigate the matter. Collaborating with the Gajuwaka Police and the Crime Clues Team from Visakhapatnam Commissionerate District, the team conducted a raid on the cable channel’s premises. During the operation, all equipment used for the illegal broadcast was confiscated. Appala Raju, a representative of AP Local TV, was apprehended, and an FIR was lodged against him.
“Game Changer,” directed by Shankar, features Ram Charan, Kiara Advani, and Anjali in lead roles. The film also stars SJ Suryah, Srikanth, Sunil, Jayaram, Samuthirakani, and Brahmanandam in supporting roles. Industry insiders have reiterated the need for stricter measures to combat piracy, which continues to threaten the financial viability of films.
